Butterfly was a live painting and music event that DJ Centipede and I did every friday night for about a year at Butterfly lounge on Mission st. Paintings were done in acrylic on plexiglass using the mulitcolored stage lighting as well as a spotlight. I usually was able to finish one or two pieces in a three or four hour period.
